Hunt County Commissioners Court regular session, October 27, 2026. The court approved the purchase of two Mac dump trucks through an 80/20 grant, with the county’s share stated as approximately $81,000. It also authorized the Purchasing Department to issue a request for qualifications for a new outside auditor for the county’s general fund after Rutherford Taylor indicated it would no longer provide that audit; the review committee will include the county auditor and commissioners from Precincts 1 and 2. Rutherford Taylor is expected to continue the juvenile audit. Following executive session, the court voted not to renew the automatic renewal of its fines-and-fees collection-agency contract; the agency was not named. A land-use agreement with Hennington Industries for about 42.42 acres for road-material storage and brush disposal was approved contingent on the company signing it. The court also approved an interlocal road-repair agreement with the Town of Poetry, with no costs stated in the transcript.

The court received an update on the Tyler Technologies ERP Pro 10 implementation, which staff said was nearing final stages and would proceed to initial training in December. Although staff said the upgrade would not require additional dollars, commissioners requested cost information for a future meeting. Other discussion included a Conference of Urban Counties briefing on state-mandated county expenses and its $6,884 annual membership dues; no membership decision was made. The Boys & Girls Club and North Texas Behavioral Health Authority gave program updates, and public commenters raised records-access and surveillance-system concerns; no related procurement action was taken on those comments.
