The Johnson County Planning Commission meeting on October 26, 2026, addressed two land-use cases; no procurement activity, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified. In case P-1-26, SNR Properties, represented by Overland Engineering LLC, sought approval to divide a 5.23-acre commercially zoned property near East 300 South and Old US 31 into two lots, with waivers from public sewer and water requirements to use private systems. After public comments raised concerns about traffic safety, site conditions, and septic and well suitability, the Commission approved the utility waivers 5–3 but denied the preliminary plat 5–3 on public-safety grounds. Staff and legal counsel will prepare findings supporting the plat denial for consideration at a later meeting.
In case W-4-26, Derek Sutton sought a waiver of the limit on one minor subdivision per parent tract for property at 7106 South 300 West, so he could proceed with an application for a two-lot minor plat. Staff supported the request, describing the land adjustment as limited in scope; the waiver and the petitioner’s findings of fact were approved unanimously. The Commission clarified that subdivision review, including drainage considerations, would still follow if a plat application is submitted.
