NKSD Policy Advisory SubCommittee Meeting-October 26th, 2026

The NKSchoolCommittee Policy Advisory Subcommittee met on October 26, 2026, to review and revise district policies. The committee approved the September 14 minutes and voted to forward the revised meal payment policy to the full School Committee. Discussion of the coaching policy focused on coach reapplication, volunteer coach qualifications, communication with student-athletes and families, preseason meetings, and limits on transportation in private vehicles; no vote on that policy was recorded.

The committee made extensive revisions to the student suicide prevention policy, including training timelines and family notification, risk assessment and referral procedures, parent/guardian notification, responses to out-of-school concerns, and postvention support. Staff were asked to prepare a clean draft for further review and a future School Committee reading. No procurement activity, contract awards, vendor selections, or spending decisions were identified.
