The CFAUSD Board held a special budget hearing on October 27, 2026, to review the proposed 2026–27 budget and levy. Administrators presented the budget in the context of the district’s strategic priorities and reported that reductions were made to balance spending with available revenue. The general fund tax levy is projected to rise by about $3.6 million, primarily because of declining state aid; state aid is down roughly $980,000, while the revenue limit includes a $325-per-pupil increase. The district also reported declining enrollment, approximately $3 million in voucher-related costs, and an estimated mill-rate decrease despite the higher levy. No vendor selections, contract awards, or specific purchasing approvals were discussed.
The board approved the 2026–27 budget and adoption of the levy as presented following a motion and second; the recorded roll-call votes were all in favor. Administrators also noted preparations for a possible future operational referendum and cited approximately $568 million in debt capacity. These were budget and financing discussions rather than approval of a specific capital project or procurement.
