Cache County Council meeting, October 27, 2026. The council received an update on the Western Cache Corridor planning and environmental linkages study, which is examining future north–south transportation options and is expected to conclude in early 2028; no route has been selected. The study is funded by a $2 million congressional earmark secured in Cache County’s name and managed through UDOT, with the Cache MPO providing an approximately 7% local match. The council also approved setting public hearings concerning an easement sale, surplus property, and proposed elected and executive official salary adjustments. A budget workshop and public budget hearing are scheduled for November 10, followed by a property-tax open house and truth-in-taxation hearing on November 17.

The council approved several land-use and code actions by roll-call vote: the Clean Slate Services rezone, allowing a proposed solid-waste processing and tire-recycling facility subject to further permits (6–1); two Willow Valley industrial rezones (each 6–1); and an ordinance establishing standards for animal-processing facilities (7–0). It also approved a Cache County Fire Protection District representation resolution (7–0) and an exemption to frontage requirements for certain FR-40 parcels (7–0). No contracts or vendor awards were made. Council members were advised that county Community Development Block Grant applications are due to BRAC by December 31, with potential projects including infrastructure, a Meals on Wheels truck, or fire equipment; proposed projects must not directly benefit Logan City.
