At the October 27, 2026, Medina County Commissioners’ meeting, commissioners approved several procurement and spending-related resolutions. They approved a completion-date change for the Ledgewood Drive Bridge No. 1 replacement and a $14,425 change-order credit for the Engineering Center capital project. They also approved a county real-property purchase agreement for an approximately half-acre parcel, subject to completion of a major-subdivision process; a three-year agreement between the Sheriff’s Office and FOPA representing lieutenants; and a contract for professional services at the Medina County Home for nutrition services. Other approved actions included declaring a 2021 Sanitary Engineering Division Ford F-150 excess property for public auction, extending the county’s collaborative-use agreement for the Drake Road bus stop with Greater Cleveland RTA, and purchasing a replacement bus with 2024 federal grant funds. Commissioners also authorized an Ohio EPA 2027 Market Development Grant application for a project involving zinc recycling and approved various revenue adjustments and fund transfers, including transfers for county home, transit, and JFS/Children Services activities. The resolutions were approved by recorded votes; no specific amounts were provided for the property, bus, or service contracts.

The board also approved a resolution supporting the governor’s request to end the E-Check program and redirect funding toward regional air-quality and traffic improvements. Commissioners discussed a forthcoming solid-waste plan ratification, a possible future public discussion of rising Medicaid matching costs for developmental-disability services, and questions about bow hunting on county property. No procurement decision was reported on those discussion items; the solid-waste plan was expected to come back for ratification at a special meeting.
