The City of Zephyrhills Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and City Council met on October 26, 2026. The CRA unanimously approved a $10,787 commercial improvement grant for RMR Air Conditioning at 553 16th Street for signage and a new parking lot. Members also approved, 3–1, moving forward with a conceptual 2.9-mile Greenway Trail plan connecting parks and other destinations, subject to public outreach and further design work. The concept is not a construction approval; drainage, route impacts, downtown parking, materials, costs, and possible grant funding remain to be addressed. In a separate CRA discussion, the board approved, 3–1, the original plaza plan that removes existing trees, with direction to replace them with additional trees and communicate the landscaping plans to the public. Zephyr Park’s 100% site plans had been submitted to the water management district, and staff said project pricing would be reviewed against the budget before anticipated construction early in 2027.
Council approved renewal of the city attorney’s professional-services agreement, with rates of $350 per hour for partners, $275 for associates, and $400 for litigation-related court work; the city had budgeted $275,000 for legal services and spent about $277,000 in the prior year. A proposed $62,000 engineering scope for roughly 750 feet of Dorrie Road sidewalk was withdrawn after council requested another price. A separate trail-safety engineering work order was also withdrawn, 3–1, for further discussion. Council approved an unspecified system/equipment replacement item after staff said existing components were becoming obsolete. No construction contract award or total Greenway Trail budget was approved.
