The OCPS Board work session on October 27, 2026, reviewed Florida FAST Progress Monitoring 1 results and implementation of Board Policy JLIE on student micromobility devices and parking. Staff presented assessment results by grade and subject, noting several year-over-year gains and comparisons with state performance. No procurement, contract awards, budget allocations, or purchasing decisions were identified.

Staff reported that 1,150 students had registered devices and described school enforcement and survey feedback: most responding parents reported little or no transportation impact, while most responding principals rated compliance highly and enforcement manageable. The board also discussed Orange County’s new micromobility ordinance, safety education, and communication with families. The superintendent agreed to send families an update before Thanksgiving and provide additional survey analysis by grade level; no changes to the school policy were recommended or voted on.
