The Gulf County Board of County Commissioners’ regular meeting on October 27, 2026, included several contracting actions. The board approved the consent agenda, 4-0 with one abstention; one commissioner cited business relationships with vendors on two contracts. It approved a 60-day extension of the Tourism Development Council’s marketing contract with Paradise Advertising and Marketing to allow time to solicit vendors, and approved Amendment No. 1 to the agreement with Northwest Florida Health Network. The board also awarded Bid 2526-38 for construction engineering and inspection services on the Indian Pass Bridge replacement project to Southeastern Consulting Engineers. The project is funded by a federal grant; one commissioner abstained because of a company conflict.
The board discussed red tide monitoring and proposed nutrient and microbial source tracking at six sites, with results potentially available within about a month. A related grant application was under review, but no funding approval or testing expenditure was recorded. Other discussion covered waste-service responsiveness and truck water issues, upcoming road and maintenance work, and affordable-housing plans; speakers referenced two bids below $200,000 for a nonprofit housing project, but the board took no award action on it.
