The City of Lafayette, Colorado City Council held a workshop on October 27, 2026. The main funding item was the 2027 Mental Health and Human Services Grant Allocation Recommendations: the advisory committee recommended distributing $775,000 from the voter-approved 0.1% sales and use tax, against $1.36 million in requests from 43 eligible applicants. Notable recommendations included $180,000 each for Clinica Family Health and Wellness and Sister Carmen, $35,000 for SPAN, and $25,000 for All Roads. No vote was taken at the workshop; the recommendations were scheduled for the November 2 consent agenda, after which staff would prepare grant agreements and begin payments. Council also discussed possible future multi-year or noncompetitive grant funding, but made no policy decision. The winter mobility briefing noted contracted snow removal for two expanded sidewalk areas and ongoing fleet modernization, including snowplow and brine capabilities; no new purchasing approval was presented.

Council received an oil and gas regulatory update, including Lafayette’s inspection and reporting requirements and the limits on local authority. Members discussed whether to fund a consultant or staff capacity to review operator reports, but favored first clarifying desired outcomes and consulting regional experts and partner agencies; no contract or spending action was approved. Other proposed follow-up topics included a possible rental-property registration program and a contract lobbyist to represent the city at the state legislature. These were exploratory discussions only, with no votes or procurement decisions.
