The October 26, 2026, regular meeting of the Lakewood City Council approved its consent agenda by an 11–0 vote. Procurement- and funding-related items included Resolution 2026-72, establishing projects and funding levels for the 2026 Capital Improvement and Preservation Program’s Neighborhood Participation Program; Resolution 2026-74, approving an intergovernmental agreement with the Mile High Flood District regarding funding for its flood-risk program; and a resolution directing staff to make the commitments needed for Lakewood to participate in Colorado’s 2027–2029 Proposition 123 affordable-housing program cycle. No contract amounts, vendor selections, or specific project budgets were stated. The council also discussed the US 6th and Wadsworth interchange project, being advanced with CDOT and anticipated to continue through 2029, without taking a procurement action on it.
By an 11–0 vote, the council directed the city attorney’s office to draft an ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium on accepting, processing, or approving development applications for new data centers or expansions of existing facilities, while the city develops zoning standards; staff were also asked to identify other emerging technologies for possible consideration. This was a direction to draft an ordinance, not adoption of the moratorium itself. The council separately voted 11–0 to request a summary of the city’s vacancy-fee program’s implementation and outcomes; discussion included, but did not decide, whether fees could help fund affordable housing. No specific contract award or purchasing decision was identified.
