November 2026 Committee of the Whole Meeting

The School District of Superior held its Committee of the Whole meeting on October 27, 2026, following a special budget hearing. The board approved the 2026–27 budget (Resolution 26-08), establishing $59,602,988 in general-fund revenue and expenditures, and approved the tax levy certification (Resolution 26-09). The district reported a total levy of approximately $26.88 million, down about 2.12% from the prior year, and a $6.79 mill rate. The board also approved the Superior Middle School 2027 Building Envelope Improvement Project bid to Jackson & Associates LLC for $7,508,000, including the base bid, Alternate 1, and a spring-start deduct. The early spring start is expected to save about $250,000; the project is planned in phases from March through June. The administration reported that six firms attended the required pre-bid meeting and three submitted bids. The board approved the bid, with the committee’s action to be forwarded for final approval at the November 2 regular meeting.

Other actions included approval of the November new hires and separations report, October gifts and grants, a resolution setting school board nomination-paper requirements, and an update to the student health services policy. A new drone-use policy received approval at first reading. Informational reports covered high school improvement efforts, elementary math curriculum implementation, and Indian Education programming. No other contract awards or purchasing decisions were identified.
