Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education meeting, October 26, 2026: The board approved, 5–0, a $77,870 award to INMP TSG for replacement of the district’s headend uninterruptible power supply (UPS), using REMC contract pricing and district sinking-fund dollars; the amount includes contingency. The replacement is needed because the existing unit has reached end of life, and the anticipated two-day installation downtime is planned for summer. The board also accepted the fiscal-year 2026 audited financial statements presented by Plant Moran. The audit reported no issues in tested bond and sinking-fund compliance; the separate federal-program audit covered approximately $3 million in funding and was expected to receive an unmodified opinion once federal guidance is finalized.
The finance report noted health-insurance payouts increased from $11.9 million to $14.8 million, a 26% rise, and identified $567,000 in current-year GLP-1 weight-loss drug costs; the district plans to discontinue coverage of those drugs for weight loss in 2027 while considering other cost strategies. The board discussed exploring public-agency partnerships for the Eastover and Lone Pine tennis courts, but no spending decision was made. It also discussed preparing to possibly establish a scholarship-granting organization in response to potential state participation in a federal tax-credit program; members requested more information and did not take action. No other procurement awards were identified.
