10/26/26 APC Meeting

The Warrick County, Indiana, Board of Zoning Appeals meeting was held October 26, 2026. Members approved the prior meeting minutes and continued Little Ben Solar LLC’s solar-farm matter (BZA-SU 26-31) to November 23. Two matters concerning Joseph Colston were also continued to November 23 at the applicant’s request because an appraiser was unavailable to testify. The board approved a special-use request to convert an existing detached garage into an accessory dwelling unit for a family member, subject to conditions including required permits, utility requirements, parking, and limits on its use and separation from the primary residence.

The board also approved a variance for Mary and Scott Connor to divide farmland into two lots, addressing limited frontage and access along State Road 61. During public comment, a resident asked hypothetically about possible data-center zoning rules and the variance process; officials clarified that a proposed ordinance would be considered by the Area Plan Commission and ultimately the county commissioners, and no decision or ordinance change was made at this meeting.
