At its October 26, 2026 meeting, the Indian River School District Board of Education reviewed several capital projects and approved related spending actions. The board unanimously approved four Sussex Central High School change orders, including an approximately $34,000 storm-drainage repair, and approved renovation of space at Selbyville Middle School for a TidalHealth-operated wellness center. Construction also began on the Sussex Central Oyster Aquaponics Building; theater lighting and exterior signage work were reported, with signage behind schedule. The district reported about $680,000 remaining in the Sussex Central major-capital account and discussed using Sussex County impact fees, which were estimated at roughly $500,000, subject to certificate-of-necessity requirements. The board also approved Indian River High School boys’ lacrosse warmups, to be paid for with donated funds, and unanimously approved financial and capital-operations reports. The curriculum report noted a second-round Bridge to Practice grant of $146,448 for literacy training and professional learning.

The board voted 6–3, with one abstention, to direct preparation of a resolution supporting Delaware’s participation in the federal scholarship tax-credit program, for later board approval and transmission to the governor; the proposal could provide scholarship funding but was not a district contract or expenditure. Other actions included unanimous approval of school-choice applications and approval of a board vacancy appointment. No vendor contract award or competitive bid selection was identified.
