The Crestwood School District Board of Education’s Bond Sale Committee study session on October 26, 2026, reviewed bond-funded capital projects, phase-one spending, and plans for phases two and three. Phase one projects at the elementary schools were reported complete on time and projected to finish about $1.7–$1.8 million under budget, with savings and unused contingency funds expected to carry forward to Riverside Middle School and high school work. Reported project savings included $673,130 at Highview, $402,022 at Hillcrest, and $622,827 at Kinloch. Staff explained that contingency funds cover unforeseen site conditions and other costs; Hillcrest used additional contingency for unsuitable soil and deeper subgrade work. Final phase-one figures remain subject to payment of outstanding bills.
The board reviewed ongoing Riverside Middle School work and high school field and site improvements, as well as planned high school classroom/front-office, field house, and theater projects. The high school field house and feeder addition was expected to receive construction drawings in December, go out to bid in January, and begin construction in June; later phases are scheduled through 2028. A proposed $2 million allocation for supplies and materials was also discussed in connection with student programs, including aviation and aeronautics. Staff identified traffic, construction phasing, and school access as issues requiring further coordination. No contract awards or procurement-related votes were recorded; the only motion was to adjourn.
