2026 October 26 Lafayette Historic Preservation Commission

The City of Lafayette Historic Preservation Commission met on October 26, 2026. Members approved the 2027 meeting calendar, changing regular commission meetings to 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month. The commission also approved certificates of appropriateness for a new second-floor window at 416 Main Street; window and door alterations at the former synagogue at 17 South 7th Street, with staff to approve the final window color; and replacement of the existing exterior stairs at 304 South 6th Street, with the new wood stairs to be painted after curing. The latter two approvals included discussion of materials and compatibility with the historic buildings.

The commission received an update that the staff liaison was serving in an interim capacity while the city recruited for a downtown development manager position. No contracts, purchases, bids, funding allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
