The School District of Holmen’s annual meeting and budget hearing was held October 26, 2026. The district presented its 2026–27 budget and recommended a total property-tax levy of $25,121,840; electors approved the levy. The budget includes a five-year operational referendum exemption of $4,525,000 annually. The district projected a General Fund ending balance of $15.82 million, or 25.6% of General Fund expenditures. The district reported progress on referendum-funded facility and safety work: district-wide camera and secure-door access upgrades, modernization of bus and van cameras, replacement of the high school’s 1993 roof, and track replacement. About $3.1 million is budgeted for these projects in 2026–27. The roof is expected to go to bid in fall or winter, with construction planned to begin after the school year ends; track work is planned for when the ground thaws. Electors also approved increasing annual school board member salaries from $3,816 to $3,930 and authorized reimbursement of board members’ expenses under district policy.
