The Sparks City Council and Redevelopment Agency meeting was held October 26, 2026. The council unanimously adopted Resolution 3,504, establishing priorities for city funds reimbursed or donated to support attainable housing. Priorities include waivers of building-permit and sewer-connection fees for qualifying housing projects, followed by land acquisition and other council-approved eligible uses. Staff reported that Sparks had requested $437,258 in reimbursement from Nevada’s attainable housing account and estimated potential reimbursement of about $454,335 based on current and previously requested funds; these are funding estimates, not contract awards. The council also held first readings of bills concerning public water infrastructure requirements for the Miramonte development and a development agreement with Silver Sage Manor Inc.; public hearings and action were scheduled for November 9.
The Redevelopment Agency unanimously accepted its report of claims and bills approved for payment and appropriation transfers for September 16–October 12, 2026; no dollar amounts or vendors were stated. No procurement award, bid approval, or vendor selection was identified. Public comment addressed RTC fuel-tax reporting, vegetation and fire-fuel concerns along the North Truckee Ditch, and security risks associated with surveillance cameras. The council also announced board vacancies and recognized Council Member Charlene Beiby’s service.
