The Uintah County Commission meeting on October 27, 2026, included several procurement and funding decisions. The Commission approved awarding the county building north parking lot and entrance remodel RFP to Acme Construction for $1,283,890.85. The work includes parking reconstruction, ADA improvements, a glycol snow-melt system, lighting and security conduit, and a remodeled entrance with automatic doors and an ADA ramp; the contract remains subject to legal review and approval. Staff also reported that the IFB for a double-vault toilet at the future Buckskin Hills enduro course would be canceled because all bids exceeded the grant budget; the county will consider options such as seeking more grant funding or negotiating with vendors, with no Commission action requested. The Commission approved an $8,600 annual operating-support grant for the county museum and a $200,000 Governor’s Office of Economic Development rural-county grant covering 12 economic development projects, with no match requirement for the latter.
The Commission approved resolutions related to Redwash Road and the Ashley Creek and 500 South active transportation plans. Redwash Road financing includes a $7,324,000 CIB award after supplemental funding was sought for project delays and inflation; the resolutions address protection of mineral lease revenues for the transportation district’s bond and transfer of a limited road interest to the district, with chip sealing planned for next year. The trail plans, prepared by Sunrise Engineering, were adopted in connection with a grant requirement for the 500 South Trail. The Commission also approved the warrants, including $2,898,110.72 for October 16 (of which $330,535 in oil-and-gas impact mitigation funds passed through the transportation district) and $46,128.58 for October 23, including regular bills and contract payments. It approved URS benefit-protection coverage for Tier 2 employees, with no regular premium and costs incurred only if qualifying long-term disability coverage is needed.
