The Milford Board of Education’s Committee of the Whole met on October 26, 2026. The annual transportation report described regular-education service for the 2026–27 school year: 60 buses and vans, 104 runs, and 71 opt-in riders. The reported cost per bus was $72,791 in 2025–26. The district’s existing contract with Durham School Services provides for annual rate increases of 4% through 2029–30, and Durham pays the first $1 per gallon of fuel. The board discussed routing efficiency, ridership tracking, safety technology, and the absence of electric buses; no new contract award, purchase, or procurement vote was identified.
The board also reviewed revisions to its strategic priorities, focusing on how to describe technology, belonging, and the district’s vision of the learner; further revisions to the first priority will return at a later meeting. Members reviewed updates to the meal-charging policy and a new required policy on migrant students, with both scheduled to return for a second reading and adoption at the business meeting. No spending action was taken on these items. Public comment addressed meal-account notifications and the use of Chromebooks; the meeting adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
