The Bellflower Unified School District Board of Education regular meeting on October 22, 2026, included a review of revised 2025–26 unaudited actuals. Staff explained that corrections to cash and accounts-payable balances were needed after district financial records were transferred into the Los Angeles County Office of Education system; the revisions increased the unassigned fund balance by about $261,000 and brought the ending fund balance to slightly over $45 million. The revised forms were included in the consent agenda, which the board approved. Staff said the correction was complete for the year, but future transactions would need spot-checking while system compatibility issues are addressed. No new contract awards or competitive procurements were identified. A consent-agenda MOU also covered payment to teachers for additional hours supporting an expanding program.
The board approved a censure resolution concerning Board Member Amy Stuart by a 3–2 vote. The proposed temporary at-will agreement for an interim assistant superintendent of human resources failed after no motion was made. Other discussion covered student achievement and district programs, including college and career readiness, attendance, literacy and math initiatives, and expanded learning. The board also held a public hearing on the reappointment of a board appointee to the personnel commission.
