The Santa Fe County Housing Authority Board’s monthly meeting was held October 27, 2026. The board approved the agenda and meeting minutes; no new contract award or major procurement vote was identified. The interim director reported that the authority was working through procurement on a consultant contract to review executive leadership, organizational structure, management capacity, and capital needs. A December work session was proposed to discuss governance options and the possible Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) conversion, including its financing potential and possible impacts on residents; the board did not commit to conversion. Members requested further analysis of displacement risks and applicable requirements before considering next steps.
Procurement and capital work discussed included previously board-approved contracts totaling $2 million for kitchen improvements at Camino Hakovo and Santa Cruz; landscaping work planned at Santa Cruz and Via Vista; and electrical upgrades underway. The financial and operations reports cited $14,783.38 in purchase orders for mold remediation, with additional units requiring quotes; a $500,000 electrical meter upgrade grant and another capital project expected to enter invitation-for-bid procurement in the coming months; and $87,123.51 paid to Cobb Family for a Camino Hakovo site survey. Staff also reported a proposed budget adjustment, a forthcoming $5 million capital-outlay grant amendment for Tierra Contenta Phase 3A infrastructure, and a $5.7 million capital-outlay grant acceptance request headed to the Board of County Commissioners. Affordable-housing staff reported submitting a 4% low-income housing tax credit and private-equity bond application with co-developer TWWG, with closing anticipated in November.
