The King George County Board of Supervisors and Service Authority Board of Directors met on October 20, 2026. Procurement and spending actions included approval of Imboden’s $12,540 Change Order No. 1 for additional work supporting renewal of four groundwater withdrawal permits. The boards also authorized, subject to county attorney approval, 36-month leases for Department of Social Services office space ($294,686) and Virginia Cooperative Extension office space ($108,550.08). The supervisors approved transferring $400,000 from FY2026 school operating funds to the school cafeteria fund; this was a budget transfer rather than a procurement award.
Capital and infrastructure planning featured prominently. The county administrator reported that the sheriff’s metal storage building had gone out to bid and described a capital improvement plan request totaling about $109 million over three years, while noting that funding capacity is substantially lower. Members discussed possible temporary and permanent space for the closed Parks and Recreation gymnastics program, including a shared storage and recreation facility or a future field house, but took no action or funding vote on those proposals. The Service Authority reported completed wastewater and water-main projects, and said Dog Run wastewater plant upgrades are expected to use a $3.5 million grant together with $4 million in bond funding. No vendor selection or award was announced for the recreation-facility concepts.
