Miamisburg City Schools Board of Education meeting, October 23, 2026. The board approved agreements with Omni and TSACG to administer the district’s 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plans, replacing a provider described as less effective. The district said the change would improve employee support and carry no direct cost to the district, with fees paid from the retirement plans. The board also approved an attorney-client engagement agreement related to litigation alleging social media platforms harm student mental health; the district would receive 66% of any award, while attorney fees would be contingent on a recovery. Members approved a resolution to begin the required process to sell the district-owned Central Avenue building after staff and technology operations moved to school sites.
The board approved financial amendments and creation of a Fund 018 account to separately track donations for the gifted program. It also approved a $100,000 transfer to cover anticipated mid-year retirements; the treasurer said $350,000 had been budgeted for transfers during fiscal year 2027. The financial report indicated spending was on pace with expectations, while the treasurer explained that delays in passage of a proposed school income tax would push collections later and could require more significant district actions. Other approvals included donations, student travel, personnel items, and routine policy revisions. The meeting also included public comments for and against the school levy, but no levy vote occurred.
