At its October 22, 2026 meeting, the Chisago Lakes School Board approved the district’s 2027 insurance rates, retaining Blue Cross and adding a program described in the transcript as Crossover/Capstone. The district reported that a 3% premium decrease would save about $150,000, while the program would cost $80,000. The board also accepted review and comment for upcoming parking-lot work, including a project over $2 million, clearing a step toward the planned summer 2027 construction work. It approved a Break the Cycle grant for 17 virtual windows at the high school; the grant amount was not stated. Donations approved included $11,320 for Lake Town, $2,000 for robotics, and several other school and community purposes.
The business-services report said enrollment was holding at 3,144, slightly above budget, and district revenues and expenditures were generally on track. The superintendent noted potential funding reductions: ACCESS funding would be recalibrated to $161,000, while transportation support was expected to fall from 100% to 60%, with an estimated $180,000 impact. The district said it was planning for these changes. Food-service updates included efforts to increase meal participation and sourcing some items from named regional farms and food producers. The board also approved staff lane changes and a grant, and reviewed policies without revisions; no other major procurement awards were identified.
