The Tosa Schools Finance and Resource Committee met on October 21, 2026. The committee discussed the district’s grounds-management practices with representatives of its existing contractor, TrueGreen. Members asked for a comparison of the City of Wauwatosa’s integrated pest-management approach and available alternatives, including TrueGreen’s “True Natural” fertilizer-only program and associated costs. TrueGreen agreed to provide cost information, and staff were asked to assemble a concise comparison for committee review as the district considers next year’s grounds budget and service plan. No contract award or change in vendor was approved. The committee also reviewed flood-related repairs: temporary sump-pump work is in place, a connection to the city storm sewer is being scheduled, and a second phase involving foundation waterproofing and new drain tile is planned for summer 2027. No project cost or contract award was stated.

The committee reviewed September financials, with expenses reported at about 15.12% of budget and a year-end projection within $100,000 of budget, while noting that an updated budget would come to the board in November. Members discussed a proposed tax levy and early debt payoff, with estimated interest savings described as at least $300,000; the board’s levy approval was upcoming, not a committee action. The committee also reviewed referendum-project progress and a newly developed Power BI financial dashboard that will allow the district to cancel a paid reporting subscription. The September meeting minutes were approved; no other procurement award or spending motion was recorded.
