WRPS Educational Services Cmte. Meeting 11/2/26

The Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools Educational Services Committee met on November 2, 2026. Members approved several course changes for the 2027–28 school year, including new courses, revised prerequisites and science sequencing, and course-name changes. They also approved technology and engineering course-title changes together with modest fee adjustments for materials; one member opposed that motion, citing concerns about family costs. The committee approved 19 Start College Now applications for nine courses at Mid-State Technical College, with one abstention; five other requests had been denied for academic, attendance, or course-equivalency reasons. No Early College Credit Program applications were submitted for the upcoming semester.

The committee approved a Lincoln High School music department trip to St. Louis and Branson for June 5–8, 2027, estimated to cost students $1,200–$1,500 depending on participation; the group plans to use Bob Rogers Travel and travel by motor coach. Members also voted to recommend changes to the district’s 4K contract with off-site community locations. The meeting included review and approval motions concerning board policy updates, including artificial intelligence and nondiscrimination.
