The Metro Nashville Public Schools Board of Education Director Evaluation Committee met on October 27, 2026, to review the director’s third- and fourth-quarter formative progress report. The committee discussed literacy and numeracy outcomes, attendance and student supports, the Scholars portfolio, postsecondary transitions, family engagement, and school start-time changes. Members highlighted areas for continued reporting and follow-up, including math supports, parent portal use, student outcomes across programs, and research on which interventions improve attendance and achievement.

The committee also discussed advocating for continued funding to provide school nurses at every school and using research to help prioritize programs in the district budget, but no specific allocation, contract, vendor selection, procurement action, or spending vote was identified. The final evaluation was expected at a later meeting, pending state assessment and accountability data. For the next evaluation cycle, members plan to consider requiring feedback each semester, clarifying data in the director’s self-evaluation, and improving board members’ access to district and school-level data.
