The City of Salina Downtown Design Review Board met on October 22, 2026. It approved an amended certificate of compatibility for the Garage Automotive Museum at 134 South 4th Street, covering construction-stage changes to storefront finishes, windows, and exterior colors. Approval requires the applicant to submit final plans and materials for the EV charging equipment to staff before installation; the board removed a separate condition after discussion. The applicant noted that $100,000 had been invested in the former service station project, but the board made no funding decision. The board also recommended that the City Commission approve an amended sidewalk-cafe license area for Blue Sky Brewery at 116 North Santa Fe Avenue, and approved a certificate of compatibility for its proposed canopy, subject to staff conditions.

The board also approved the previous meeting’s minutes and adjourned. No contracts, procurements, or spending allocations were approved; the actions concerned design compatibility and a license agreement for use of the public sidewalk.
