The City of Raleigh’s Raleigh Historic Development Commission Certificate of Appropriateness Committee met on October 22, 2026. The committee approved two residential historic-property projects: a rear addition at 1214 Glenwood Avenue (COA 0140-2026) and enclosure of a side porch at 304 Oakwood Avenue (COA 0139-2026). The Glenwood approval included conditions requiring smooth-side-out siding and trim, and staff approval of exterior-lighting specifications and dimensions, if applicable. The Oakwood approval included a condition requiring staff to accept door manufacturer specifications and a section detail before issuance of the blue placard; the transcript cuts off during the next condition. The Oakwood proposal incorporated reuse of several existing features, and neighbors spoke in support. The committee also reported 11 minor-work approvals during the past month.
The committee voted to defer the Fillmore Street case to December 10, 2026, and the application for 1014 Dorthia Drive to January 28, 2027. The application for 404 Kinsey Street had been withdrawn. The agenda and September 2026 minutes were approved. No contracts, vendor selections, spending allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
