The Milford High School Building Committee met on October 21, 2026, to review project planning and approvals. The committee unanimously approved an $11,000 amendment to the HMFH contract for a geothermal feasibility study; the design team recommended delaying exploratory well drilling until a later phase, when the system design is better established. Members also unanimously approved submitting the approximately 865-page Preferred Schematic Report (PSR) to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), and the project is moving into schematic design based on option 3.2, selected at an earlier meeting. The committee discussed site and building concepts, Chapter 74 career-technical education space, MSBA reimbursement eligibility, and project costs. Discussion included an estimated $11 million construction-cost difference associated with adding a pool, with an estimated $5–6 million impact to the town; no new project option or budget was voted on at this meeting.
The committee approved a $3,740 timesheet warrant and unanimously authorized two procedures for future warrant payments: the chair may be authorized to sign and have the warrant voted at the next available meeting, or a majority of members may sign so bills can be paid without convening a meeting. No construction contract award or vendor selection was made. The committee also set placeholder meeting dates for November through February.
