At its October 22, 2026 regular meeting, the Peabody City Council took no contract-award or vendor-selection action. A time-sensitive request related to the new high school’s construction-manager-at-risk delivery method was referred to the Committee of the Whole for review. The discussion noted that the project uses a prequalified pool of potential firms and that project representatives are expected to brief the council; no firm was selected. The council also requested updated FY2027 budget and spending figures from the mayor and finance director before December tax classification. In committee, Weston & Sampson and Unity presented options for the North River Resiliency Project, with further zoning work expected; no procurement decision was made.

Other actions included approval of Fogo de Chão’s entertainment license, revocation of Car Depot’s Class II motor vehicle license after the treasurer reported $11,711.20 in unpaid taxes across two parcels, and a failed 6–4 motion to override the mayor’s veto of a sidewalk snow-removal ordinance. The council referred a proposed data-center siting moratorium to Legal Affairs while awaiting the Planning Board’s work. It also discussed public-safety and infrastructure concerns, including traffic measures and a request for the mayor to address next steps for the skating rink as its lease nears expiration. No other procurement activity was identified.
