The Monona Grove School District Board of Education met on August 11, 2026. The board approved the 2026–27 extracurricular and additive schedules, revised licensed-personnel job descriptions, and a designation of any FY2025–26 surplus to the district’s unassigned fund balance. The surplus amount was not yet available; the district said it is below its policy target of 15% of the prior year’s Fund 10 expenditures and expects to provide unaudited figures later in August. The district also reported approximately $26,000 in donations. No contract awards or specific purchasing approvals were reported.
The board received an update that the City of Monona is interested in acquiring the Maywood school property and has requested documents, due from the district by August 31; no sale or acquisition was approved. The board authorized notice ending the Village of Cottage Grove’s use of Granite Ridge School as a polling place, effective September 1, 2027. In technology-related updates, the district said it will end Seesaw, move the middle school away from individually assigned Chromebooks toward shared checkout carts, and later review its long-term technology plan and related costs. These decisions may affect future technology purchasing, but no related contract action was taken.
