The Moberly City Council meeting on September 8, 2026, approved the 2026–27 purchase of a John Deere 544 wheel loader for $256,875. Council discussed that the purchase was about $13,000 above the budgeted amount, a roughly $1,500 warranty extension, and selling the existing machine through Purple Wave rather than trading it in. The consent agenda also included approval of a mowing agreement and other items. Council approved change orders for the Moberly Fire Station No. 2 and training center project with Reinhardt Construction, clarifying a total increase of $3,023.43, and for Brown and Root Industrial Services’ Wabash Heights ARPA stormwater project, with a net increase of $56,516.47. It also approved cooperative agreements for infill development with 1029 West End Place LLC and 1037 West End Place LLC, and a CCTV inspection agreement with the Village of Cairo; the CCTV work was already completed.
In the work session, staff recommended the $11,402 Mr. Wrench bid for a Bad Boy mower at Oakland Cemetery; council advanced it for consideration at a future meeting, but did not award it. Staff also recommended County Bank’s lowest-cost financing proposal for fire-department vehicles and equipment, likewise to return for a vote. For the Heritage Hills roof replacement, council directed staff to solicit bids because the work exceeds the city’s $30,000 purchasing-policy threshold, despite insurance coverage. A proposal for infill development at 1202 and 1206 Cannon Street and a sewer-service agreement related to the Route JJ sewer project were also advanced for future consideration. No final award was made on these deferred items.
