The City of Moberly City Council meeting on August 17, 2026, approved ordinances accepting the Harvest Ridge Plat One and South Ridge Plat Two final plats, establishing the city’s 2026 tax levy, and continuing the annual 911 tax. The council approved resolutions accepting Crockett Geotechnical Testing Lab LLC’s proposal for construction observation and testing at Fire Station No. 2; authorizing a change order with Color World Inc. dba Dave Griggs Flooring America for City Hall flooring replacement; and accepting Veolia Water Technologies Treatment Solutions’ proposal and authorizing a contract for the water treatment plant UV disinfection upgrade. Contract amounts were not stated. The council also authorized staff to apply for Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant funds for life-saving equipment or prevention education tools, and considered a resolution ratifying the city manager’s purchase of two pickup trucks from Moberly Motors for the fire department; the transcript does not capture that resolution’s final vote. A resolution appropriating $638,653.96 for city expenses due July 31–August 13, 2026, was approved.

In the work session, the council advanced proposals for infill development at 1029 and 1037 West End Place, and an agreement with Henry West Hughes for haying at Omar N. Bradley Regional Airport, to a future council meeting. Staff also recommended replacing equipment and selling the existing unit through Purple Wave; the purchase was budgeted in the capital improvement plan with three-year financing, and bid requests had been issued for consideration at the next meeting. The council approved a cooperative agreement with Cairo for after-hours CCTV inspection work. Other discussion included a proposed quiet-title action to clear ownership claims before demolishing a home and recording a sewer easement, and reappointment to the Public Building Corporation. No amounts were provided for the project proposals or agreements.
