The City of Newport Beach Planning Commission met on October 22, 2026. The Commission unanimously approved the September 17 meeting minutes and approved Toll Brothers’ Dove Point Residential Condominiums application (PA 2026-0050) for 75 condominiums at 901 and 1001 Dove Street. The proposal involves redeveloping a 3.23-acre office site with eight four-story buildings, and includes requested deviations from three objective design standards. Public comments raised concerns about affordable housing and the limited public amenities; Commissioners also discussed the publicly accessible walkway and a possible pet-relief area. No public procurement or spending action was identified.

The Commission also unanimously approved the Corporate Plaza Planned Community Development Plan amendment (PA 2026-0043), increasing the medical-use allowance at 17 Corporate Plaza by 11,534 square feet. Staff reported that the shared parking supply was adequate based on a study and corrected the stated projected trip increase from 299 to 295. Staff then presented a citywide zoning amendment that would allow the Planning Director to exclude up to 10% of a nonresidential building’s gross floor area for utility and mechanical rooms, subject to limits; the transcript ends before any Commission action on that item.
