PVSchools Governing Board meeting, October 22, 2026. The board unanimously approved the agenda and the gifts and donations report. Donations included $45,000 from the North Star Foundation to Greenway School and $75,000 to Shadow Mountain High School, along with smaller contributions for school activities, supplies, and support services. No contract awards or specific capital projects were approved. In a first reading of policy revisions, staff described updated credit-card controls—including advance purchase-order approval, cardholder records, receipts, and annual training—and audit and purchasing-ethics changes. The proposed purchasing policy reflects a rise in the written-quotation threshold from $10,000 to $15,000, requiring three written quotes for purchases of at least $15,000 but under $100,000; the district’s $3 million job-order-contracting threshold remains unchanged.
Board members discussed whether purchases over $1 million made through job-order contracts should be placed on the regular approval agenda rather than consent to provide more opportunity for discussion. Staff agreed to bring information on the potential agenda impact and the types of projects involved to a future meeting. The policy revisions were presented for discussion, not adopted. The board also held first readings on proposed 2027–28 course catalog changes; final consideration is scheduled for November 5, 2026.
