Fairfield Representative Town Meeting regular meeting, October 26, 2026: Members approved several property, grant, and capital-funding actions. They authorized a no-cost, 75-year ground lease to Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County for up to four affordable homes at 254 Greenfield Street, and approved the purchase of 377 Quincy Street with an amended not-to-exceed price of $35,000. They also approved a Connecticut Secretary of the State grant agreement for early-voting costs. A bond resolution was amended to remove a proposed $900,000 Lake Mohegan project increase after that project was withdrawn; the amended resolution, retaining a $1 million increase for the 2024 master flood-prevention project, passed.

The RTM approved additional capital bond measures, including authorizations of $2,556,000, $4,625,466, and $4,986,000 (the transcript does not preserve all project descriptions). It also approved $6,268,000 for an adaptive recreation/community-space project, despite members’ requests for more detail on operating costs and revenue potential. School-related measures passed for Jennings security, Stratfield HVAC, Jennings planning, and Ward air-quality improvements; Fairfield Ludlowe High School artificial-turf replacement was approved at $2,945,346, and the Warde High School turf project was approved with a $375,000 increase to $2,675,000, using unused Holland Hill expansion bond proceeds. Members raised concerns about potential health effects of turf materials. No vendor contract awards were identified; the principal procurement-related actions were property acquisition, a lease, a grant, and capital bonding.
