KC Riverboat Grant Ad Hoc Committee October 22 2026

The Kane County Riverboat Grant Ad Hoc Committee met on October 22, 2026, and approved resolution TMP 261332 to invest $100,000 in the Kane County Economic Development Corporation for 2027. The proposed funding would come from the Grand Victoria Riverboat Fund through Fund 400, with adjustments to the FY2027 budget. The resolution passed on a roll-call vote; it will advance to the Finance Committee. The presentation noted that the County had previously approved $3 million in ARPA funding to launch the organization, following an initial $3.79 million request, and received a $150,000 Illinois economic-development planning grant.

A motion to amend the resolution with seven wording corrections was not taken forward after its second was withdrawn, amid members’ concerns that they had not received the proposed changes in advance. The chair said the resolution would be reviewed by the State’s Attorney’s Office before the next committee stage. A separate County–Corporation agreement had been approved by the Jobs Committee and was expected to go to the Executive Committee. No vendor selection or contract award was discussed.
