The October 22, 2026, TRSD Budget Committee meeting focused on the FY2028 budget, including a proposed $1.8 million capital improvement plan (CIP). Proposed projects included high-school exterior windows ($250,000 for about 90 windows, coordinated with the building-envelope work), the second phase of high-school bathroom renovations, AHU replacement, masonry repairs, and a storage building. Members questioned project estimates and prioritization; administrators said the figures were budget estimates and that further refinement and decisions would be needed. The committee also discussed a proposed $38,000 mower purchase, which would require competitive bidding under district policy, and replacement of a maintenance van estimated at $65,500. Facilities budgets and the CIP were moved forward for consideration, but no project award or final capital-spending approval was recorded.

Other procurement and budget items included a possible athletic-training services cost of roughly $60,000–$65,000 if existing no-cost services end; the district’s First Student transportation contract, whose final year is FY2028, with bids to be sought for subsequent service; and a one-year, approximately $65,000 building-management-system contract with Control Technologies. Members also reviewed budget pressures, special-education contracted services, and the potential effects of a statewide tax-cap ballot question. A motion was proposed to reduce district administrators by four, but the meeting adjourned for lack of a quorum before a vote. No contract awards or vendor selections were made.
