Downtown Historic Core Plan October 2026 Virtual Public Meeting

Tempe’s October 22, 2026 virtual public meeting presented the draft Downtown Historic Core Plan, an advisory plan intended to balance historic preservation with continued downtown development. Consultants described proposed guidance for Mill Avenue and nearby areas, including context-sensitive infill, adaptive reuse, preservation of cultural landscapes and viewsheds, and voluntary implementation tools. The plan would not change zoning, property entitlements, or designate private properties as historic without owner permission.
