Board of Education Meeting October 22, 2026

The OSD Board of Education meeting on October 22, 2026, approved an interlocal agreement with the Ogden City Redevelopment Agency for the Wildcat Square Community Reinvestment Area project. The project, awarded through an RFP to Keller Development Group, would provide 513 student-housing beds in a four-story building under an anticipated 99-year lease. Officials cited more than $4.6 million in site work and infrastructure costs and described tax-increment financing as a way to reduce the project’s burden on student rents. Weber State said it would contribute about $4 million toward a projected $40 million project cost, in addition to the land lease. The board approved the agreement by motion and second, with no opposition recorded; discussion also addressed parking, affordability, amenities, and the possibility that tax generation would end if the property returned to public ownership.

The board also approved the recommended school calendar and considered several policy updates. Policies adopted included updates on background checks, extracurricular fees and student payment plans, fundraising platforms and approval procedures, and internet content filtering; negotiations and student-fundraising policies were approved for first reading. The fundraising discussion clarified approval thresholds and the role of the district foundation in handling outside donations. Other agenda items included student recognitions, a student representative’s report, and community partnerships supporting student needs. No other contract awards or purchasing decisions were identified.
