Council Meeting 10-20-26

The Municipality of Murrysville’s regular voting council meeting was held October 20, 2026. Council approved a resolution authorizing and ratifying an application for a Commonwealth Local Share Account statewide grant for the municipality’s motor grader replacement project. Staff said the existing grader dates to 1981 and is difficult to maintain; the replacement machine is quoted at more than $576,000 and would support road-shoulder, drainage, and other public works. The vote approved the grant application, not the equipment purchase itself. Council also discussed winter road salt: storage is at capacity, and although some funds remain, staff reported no space to store additional salt and said current supplies should cover the winter.

Council approved advertising a public hearing on proposed amendments to the 2026 operating budget; staff clarified that the hearing, planned for the November 4 meeting, is for public comment and does not approve the budget. Council also authorized advertising openings on municipal boards and commissions. No vendor was named for the grader, and no direct purchase award was made at this meeting.
