Walton County Code Compliance hearing, October 23, 2026: In the first case, the magistrate found violations involving incomplete mobile-home skirting, overgrowth, and inoperable vehicles. Although the county requested 31 days to comply, the magistrate allowed 60 days, through December 28, to correct the violations and pay the $122 administrative fee. A fine of $100 per day will apply if the property is not brought into compliance by the deadline. The property owner described financial and equipment constraints and said work was ongoing.
The hearing also considered WaterSound Beach Community Association’s request to reduce a $31,250 fine related to replacement of sidewalk boardwalks without a permit. The association cited permitting and review delays, tree-protection requirements, and efforts to complete the work; the county took no position on the requested reduction. The magistrate reduced the fine to $100 and ordered a $50 administrative fee, for a total of $150. No procurement activity, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified.
