Single Family Design Review Board - October 19, 2026

The City of Santa Barbara Single Family Design Review Board met on October 19, 2026. The board approved minutes from prior meetings and ratified the October 19 consent calendar; no procurement, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified. The board reviewed a proposed one-story, 1,000-square-foot, two-bedroom ADU at 819 North Elissa Street, alongside an existing 660-square-foot residence. After discussion of the building’s height, overhangs, window details, materials, landscaping, and preservation of a mature tree, the board unanimously approved project design approval with conditions, including addressing the tree if it cannot be retained, clarifying flashing details, removing a small area of plaster, and considering vertical mullions on the front transom window.
