The Town of Smyrna Municipal Planning Commission met on September 3, 2026, to consider development applications and subdivision matters. No procurement activity, contract awards, vendor selections, or purchasing decisions were identified. The commission approved the Stone Trace Commons site plan with staff conditions, including a second left-turn lane on Genie Lane and limiting the Old Nashville Highway exit to right-in/right-out. It approved a PUD amendment at 729 Rock Springs Road for bed-and-breakfast and potential wedding-chapel uses, conditioned on required bridge improvements and removing the previously included airsoft/paintball use. It also approved rezoning three Old Nashville Highway parcels from C-4 to C-2. For Encore at Rocky Fork, commissioners approved a revised PRD for 202 age-restricted homes, including specified lot-size and setback waivers, but without the requested two-year provision that would reinstate the prior 2019 approval if construction did not begin.

The commission approved final plats for Marable Farms Phase 1, Addition to Villages of Valley Green Section 6 Phase 2, and Villagewood Townhomes Phase 2. Rocket Ship Smyrna Phase 2 was deferred to the October meeting so staff and the applicant could address traffic and on-site vehicle stacking. The commission also approved the September bond-review report, which included bond reductions and maintenance-period actions or extensions for several developments, including Kroger on Bulldog Drive. These were development and bond-administration decisions rather than procurement awards.
