The October 20, 2026 JPS Board of Trustees meeting included several contract, agreement, and funding items. The board approved the purchase-and-sale agreement for the former Obama Magnet Elementary School for $280,000, with $14,000 in earnest money due at signing. It also approved an external evaluation contract for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program with Consulting Plus LLC (no amount stated), an MDE K–8 STEM grant agreement of approximately $20,000, a three-year partnership with Reach University at no cost to the district, an Aristotle K-12 classroom-monitoring contract, a Social Mobility Leadership Network agreement, and a data-extract agreement with PSST LLC. The board also approved a no-cost Hoop Bus program agreement. A location agreement with 87 Minutes LLC for film production at Wingfield High School was presented, but the transcript does not capture a vote on that item. The finance consent agenda was approved; individual purchases were not detailed in the transcript.

Administrators also reported that JPS had received a federal GEAR UP grant of more than $10 million to support college and career readiness for middle-school students, including programming delivered with community and institutional partners. The board reviewed proposed amendments to resignation and contract-release policies and a service agreement for forestry services, but the transcript does not show a final vote on those matters. Other discussion focused on district accountability results, student achievement, and school activities.
