The Coffee County Library Board met on September 23, 2026. The main procurement-related update was the roof project at the LAM Library: plans and specifications were complete, and the project was in the pre-bid phase. A contractor pre-bid meeting was scheduled at the library, with bids to be opened at the CCAP building on October 15 at 10:00 a.m. The director anticipated work could begin within a few months after a contractor is selected; no bid amounts or contract award were reported. Library staff also described placing larger purchase orders early in the budget year for materials and services such as Ingram, Amazon, and Hoopla. The board heard that funding contributions from the cities were delayed pending approval of the funding process, with several checks expected in October. The libraries will not renew the hotspot program because of concerns about equitable access and unreturned devices.
The board approved the meeting minutes with a heading correction, accepted the library reports and financial reports, and approved revisions to the collection development policy, including language on AI-generated materials and reconsideration requests. It also approved closing the LAM Library for a staff summer-reading-planning day on November 2. No contract award, bid approval, or specific spending amount was reported.
