10/19/26 Policies & Procedures Committee

The Coffee County, Tennessee, Policies & Procedures Committee met on October 19, 2026. Members approved the amended agenda and the March 9 meeting minutes, then selected a chair, vice chair, and secretary. The committee approved its procedural rules book, which the chair said must be renewed every four years under a state law effective March 18, and prepared it for referral to the full commission before the December 1 deadline.

Members reviewed—but deferred action on—proposed revisions to the public-comment time limit, the longevity-pay policy, and the Coffee County Official Certificate Training Program. The proposed pay-policy revisions would require employees to be actively employed when annual payments are made, avoiding payroll reactivation and tax and retirement-accounting complications. The committee planned to revisit these items at its next meeting. No procurement, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified; the compensation discussion concerned policy rather than a procurement action.
